ALX-106 JOINS THE COLLECTIVE

ALX-106 is the musical moniker of Alex Anderson. You might recognize him as the video guy for the Eurorack manufacturer WMD (back at you again!), or know him by the name Nasty Nachos.

Alex has become very involved with WMD over the years and has had a hand in the development of many of their products including Metron and Voltera, the Performance Mixer, all of the drums, and many others. As the main outward facing personality of WMD, he has gained lots of experience in using and teaching eurorack and other music concepts to audiences around the world.

What you might not know is that Alex has had a long history of playing music in live situations as well as recording. Throughout his performance career, he has shared the stage with acts like New Order, !!! (chk chk chk), El Ten Eleven, STRFKR, Chrome Sparks, Jaques Greene, Cut Copy, Matthew Dear, Richard Devine, and many more. Performing both in bands and solo, his experience has made him an expert in preparing for live shows, touring, and fly-out gigs.

As for recording and production, he has released music with many different projects as well as provided custom music and sound design for TV and advertising. Alex's work has been featured on shows aired on MTV, ESPN, and in advertising for brands including The North Face, Toms, New Belgium, Doritos, and more.

Alex is heavily involved with the Colorado synth community, regularly contributing to the Rocky Mountain Synth and Colorado Modular Synth Society meetups, as well as hosting two Monthly events of his own. He gives new artists an opportunity to try out live performance and work out the kinks with his open-mic format event, Freq Boutique. His other event, Patched Out! is the next step where artists play for a full hour, in a proper venue, through one of the best sound systems in the state. Patched Out! is modelled after a DJ night where the music never stops and the performers seamlessly flow from one to the next.

Lasty, Alex runs a record label called Perpetual Joy, which is focused on connecting artists in the synthesizer scene by providing a shared platform for releasing music. No genre, no schtick, just good tunes made by awesome people.
